This is confirmed by a survey by Bitkom in autumn 2022 among more than 500 German industrial companies: for 91%, Industry 4.0 is essential for competitiveness and 61% see fewer errors/rejects as a result of Industry 4.0.

The resulting data is often the basis for predictive analytics or new digital services. In the survey, 58% of the participating companies confirmed that Industry 4.0 is changing conventional business models.
